Barcelona can host your private parties. We have a beautiful, covered patio that seats up to 50, we also have a private room that seats up to 20 for your smaller group, and for bigger events you can close the restaurant just for your party up to 100 people. On occasion, we can also cater your party at your own venue.
We are located Uptown, in the Riverbend, 720 Dublin street between Hampson and Maple streets, and we offer “Authentic Spanish Paella and Tapas” in one of New Orleans’ most romantic settings.
Barcelona Tapas is the brainchild of awarded “Best Chef Legend of Louisiana 2013”, Xavier Laurentino.
Our food is essentially a taste of Spain with a New Orleans accent, and is crafted with both, the outmost respect for your health and the highest quality ingredients we can get our hands on. We specialize in Paella and Tapas, however, our Menu also features other delicious entrees like our Garlic Shrimp Pasta or our renown Chef Pasta. When it comes to unrepentant protein, our phenomenal rack of lamb chops is a must, and for those with an “appetite” we offer a 16oz Rib Eye with Spanish Fries that rivals any Rib Eye in the city. BTW, when it comes to the New Orleans, Barcelona is also the only restaurant from Spain with a Spaniard in the kitchen.
The Restaurant itself was designed and built by Chef Laurentino. (he has the pictures to prove it, which will be shown at the restaurant soon) It took him two and a half years, 16 hours a day, seven days a week to build his dream with his own hands. By the time Chef Laurentino finished, he was a very happy and broke man. The interior is, clearly, reminiscent of the “Tabernas” of his native Barcelona. The Bar, (his crown jewel), is Chef’s personal homage to his favorite architect, Antoni Gaudi 1852 – 1926.
The restaurant is unpretentious and honest, no table cloth, no inedible fru fru on your plate, no ceremonial service, just awesome food in a fun and familal atmosphere. The staff at barcelona is a team and as such we would be honored to have you and yours over for a memorable meal.
Award winning chef / owner Xavier Laurentino hails from Barcelona and grew up in Carcastillo in the Spanish Province of Navarra. (you can read his Bio under “Chef Xavier Laurentino”)
In 2012, Chef Laurentino was awarded “Best Chef of Louisiana” by his peers, the ACF “American Culinary Federation” Oldest, chef driven organization in the USA.
In 2013, Chef Laurentino was further awarded “Best Chef Legend of Louisiana” by the ACF.
